Bihar's food safety officials inspected McDonald’s and Domino’s outlets in Patna and destroyed 160 defective pizza screens valued at about ₹32,000.
The Bihar Food Safety Department carried out surprise inspections at fast‑food outlets in Patna, targeting both McDonald’s and Domino’s Pizza branches.
At the Domino’s outlet, inspectors discovered 160 pizza display screens that were faulty and failed to meet safety standards. The screens, together worth roughly ₹32,000, were seized and destroyed on the spot.
Department officials said the measure was taken to safeguard food quality and protect consumers. While no violations were reported at the McDonald’s site, the action highlights the department’s vigilance over fast‑food chains.
Authorities have urged all food‑service establishments to ensure that equipment used for food preparation and display complies with prescribed norms, warning that non‑compliance may lead to similar enforcement actions.
