The session in the Parliament of India was interrupted by a sudden monsoon storm that swept across New Delhi.
The Rajya Sabha, which had been in session, was suspended at 12 noon to allow members to secure themselves from the heavy rain and lightning.
The Lok Sabha followed suit, halting its proceedings at 2 p.m. after the storm intensified and posed safety concerns for the members and staff.
Parliamentary work resumed later in the evening once the weather cleared and the storm subsided.
