The Panvel civic authority will operate 43 health camps across the city, running until November 2, to provide basic medical services to residents.
Panvel’s municipal corporation announced that it will set up 43 health camps at various locations in the city, with the programme scheduled to run until November 2. The initiative is part of the local government’s effort to expand access to primary healthcare for all residents.
The camps will be spread across neighbourhoods identified as underserved, offering services such as basic health check‑ups, blood pressure monitoring, diabetes screening, and distribution of essential medicines. Mobile units will also visit remote pockets to reach people who cannot travel to fixed sites.
According to the municipal health officer, the drive aims to address gaps in preventive care and to detect health issues early, especially among senior citizens and low‑income families. The camps will operate on a rotating schedule, with each site open for a few days before moving to the next location.
The corporation has coordinated with local NGOs and private clinics to staff the camps, ensuring that qualified doctors and nurses are available. Residents are encouraged to visit the nearest camp during its operating days to avail free or subsidised medical assistance.
