Actor Pankaj Tripathi confirmed his debut as the host of the International Indian Film Academy Awards 2027, humorously noting he would appear more like a ‘ghost’ than a traditional host.
The International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) 2027 will see veteran actor Pankaj Tripathi stepping into the spotlight as the event’s host for the first time.
In a recent interview, Tripathi quipped that he would be “more of a ghost than a host,” hinting at a subtle, understated presence rather than a flamboyant stage persona.
The actor, known for his nuanced performances in films like ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ and ‘Stree,’ has rarely taken on hosting duties. His comment suggests a playful approach to the role, blending his signature dry wit with the ceremony’s grandeur.
IIFA 2027 is scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi on 12–14 September, and the organizers have expressed excitement about Tripathi’s fresh take on the hosting format.
