Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed that Mike Hesson will stay on as interim head coach of the Test side until the current World Test Championship cycle concludes, and will also lead the squad for next year’s series against New Zealand.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced that Mike Hesson, currently the white‑ball head coach, will continue as the interim head coach of the men's Test team until the present World Test Championship (WTC) cycle comes to an end. The decision underscores the board’s confidence in Hesson’s ability to steer the side through the remaining phase of the championship.
Hesson’s interim appointment will also see him take charge of Pakistan’s Test side for the upcoming series against New Zealand scheduled for next year. By retaining him through the WTC cycle, the PCB aims to provide continuity in leadership while it evaluates long‑term coaching options.
The board did not disclose any further changes to the coaching staff, indicating that the current arrangement will remain in place until the championship concludes, after which a permanent appointment may be considered.
