The cultural troupe Padiala inaugurated the sixth night of the Khard Ramleela performances in Mohali, drawing local residents and officials.
Padiala, a cultural group based in the Mohali region, formally opened the sixth night of the Khard Ramleela series on Tuesday. The ceremony was attended by a crowd of local residents, community leaders and representatives of the municipal authorities, who gathered to witness the traditional theatrical rendition of the epic tale.
The Khard Ramleela, a folk drama that enacts scenes from the life of Lord Rama, is staged over several nights during the festive season. The sixth night featured a continuation of the narrative, with performers in traditional costumes presenting key episodes accompanied by live music and rhythmic chants.
Organizers highlighted that the event aims to preserve regional cultural heritage and provide a platform for local artists. Security and crowd-management measures were in place, ensuring a smooth flow of attendees. The program is scheduled to continue for the next few nights, concluding the series later this week.
