Filmmaker Pa. Ranjith announced that his upcoming film ‘Vettuvam’ will hit theatres on Pongal 2027 and unveiled its official poster.
Renowned Tamil director Pa. Ranjith used a recent media briefing to confirm that his next venture, titled “Vettuvam,” is slated for a theatrical release during the Pongal festival in 2027. The announcement was made alongside the unveiling of the film’s first official poster, which has already begun circulating on social platforms.
The poster, released by the director’s production house, features a stark visual composition that hints at the film’s thematic focus without revealing plot specifics. While the design details remain limited, the imagery aligns with Ranjith’s reputation for socially conscious storytelling.
Choosing Pongal—a major holiday in Tamil Nadu—as the release window underscores the strategic timing often employed by big-budget Tamil films to maximize audience turnout. Industry observers note that a Pongal debut can provide a significant box‑office boost, especially for a filmmaker of Ranjith’s stature.
Fans and critics alike have expressed keen interest, citing the director’s previous successes and the anticipation surrounding his next narrative venture. Further details about the cast, crew, and storyline are expected to be disclosed in the coming months.
