Senior Congress leader Asaduddin Owaisi has called on the opposition parties in Uttar Pradesh to form an alliance aimed at preventing the BJP from securing a third consecutive term in the state.
Asaduddin Owaisi, a senior figure in the Congress party, publicly urged the various opposition parties in Uttar Pradesh to come together in a single front. He emphasized that a united opposition is essential to stop the Bharatiya Janata Party from achieving a third consecutive term in the state.
Owaisi argued that fragmented opposition votes have historically benefited the ruling party, and a coordinated alliance could consolidate anti‑BJP sentiment. He called for immediate discussions among regional and national parties to finalize a common agenda and seat-sharing formula before the upcoming state elections.
Political analysts note that Uttar Pradesh, with its massive electorate, will be a decisive battleground for the 2024 assembly polls. Owaisi’s appeal adds pressure on opposition leaders to negotiate a coalition that could challenge the BJP’s entrenched position.
