Over 2 Crore Uttar Pradesh Farmers Receive Direct PM‑KISAN Income Support

The PM‑KISAN scheme has transferred cash assistance directly to more than 2 crore farmers in Uttar Pradesh, boosting rural incomes.
The central government’s PM‑KISAN programme, launched in 2019, continues to channel a yearly cash grant of Rs 6,000 to eligible small and marginal farmers. Using Aadhaar‑linked bank accounts, the payments are transferred directly, eliminating intermediaries and delays.
According to the latest data released by the Ministry of Agriculture, over 2 crore farmers in Uttar Pradesh have now been enrolled in the scheme, making the state the largest single‑state beneficiary. The direct‑benefit transfer (DBT) model ensures that each farmer receives the full amount in their account each year.
State officials say the infusion of cash has helped many farming families meet essential expenses such as seeds, fertilizers and loan repayments, thereby strengthening rural purchasing power. The scheme’s transparent delivery mechanism is also credited with improving financial inclusion in remote villages.
The government plans to maintain the current benefit level for the upcoming financial year and is exploring additional outreach to ensure that remaining eligible farmers are brought into the database.
