A coalition of opposition parties marched through Bihar, presenting six demands that include cancelling the 2025 state elections and stopping the SIR process.

Delhi-based INDIA coalition partners converged on Bihar on Saturday, staging a public march to press a set of six demands aimed at reshaping the state's political timetable. Central to the list are calls to cancel the scheduled 2025 state assembly elections and to halt the ongoing SIR (Special Investigation Report) procedure, which the parties allege is being misused.

Organisers said the rally seeks to force the central and state governments to reconsider the election calendar, arguing that the current timeline undermines democratic fairness. They also warned that the SIR mechanism, if allowed to continue, could be weaponised against opposition figures.

While the exact composition of the six-point agenda was not disclosed in full, party spokespeople emphasized that the demands reflect broader concerns over electoral integrity and administrative overreach. The march concluded with a symbolic sit‑in at a prominent public square, where participants urged voters to stay vigilant.

The Bihar administration has yet to issue an official response, but security forces were deployed to manage crowds and ensure order during the demonstration.
