The Times of India reports that just five percent of owners have responded to Goa's urban property card initiative.
The Goa government has launched a drive to issue property cards for urban properties, aiming to update and digitise land records across the state. According to a report by The Times of India, the response to the scheme has been markedly low, with only about five percent of eligible owners submitting the required information.
Officials overseeing the initiative noted that the limited participation could impede the objective of creating a comprehensive, searchable property database. They indicated that additional outreach and awareness measures may be required to encourage broader compliance.
The property card drive forms part of a broader effort by the state to modernise land administration and improve transparency for urban real‑estate transactions.
