One lane of Indore's Musakhri Bridge to open by October, full bridge expected by New Year

Construction of the Musakhri Bridge in Indore is slated to deliver a single lane by October, with both lanes anticipated to be operational by the start of the new year.
The Musakhri Bridge, a key river crossing in Indore, has faced a slower construction pace than originally projected, prompting concerns among daily commuters. Initial plans had the entire structure completed by March, but work has been staggered due to logistical challenges.
According to the Indore Municipal Corporation, the first lane of the bridge is now expected to be ready for traffic by October 2024. The remaining lane, which will complete the dual‑lane configuration, is targeted for completion by the beginning of 2025.
Officials say the partial opening will ease congestion on nearby routes, though drivers will still need to navigate temporary diversions until the second lane is finished. The corporation has assured that safety inspections will be conducted before the lane is opened to the public.
The project remains a priority for the city’s infrastructure agenda, aiming to improve connectivity across the Narmada River and support growing traffic volumes in the region.
