The pioneering critical mineral refining company in Odisha has entered into a collaboration agreement with the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research's Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (CSIR‑IMMT) to boost domestic processing capabilities.
The newly established critical mineral refining firm in Odisha has formalised a partnership with CSIR's Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IMMT). The agreement outlines joint research, technology transfer and pilot‑scale production to develop indigenous refining processes for minerals such as lithium, cobalt and rare earths.
Both parties said the collaboration aims to reduce India's reliance on imports for high‑value mineral processing, a sector identified as strategic for defence, electronics and renewable‑energy industries.
The pact aligns with the central government's push for self‑reliance in critical supply chains and is expected to create specialised jobs and attract further investment in Odisha's emerging mineral hub.
