Odisha is awaiting approval from the Central Zoo Authority to keep rescued orangutans at the Nandankanan Zoo in Bhubaneswar.
Odisha has announced that it is waiting for clearance from the Central Zoo Authority (CZA) to house a group of rescued orangutans at the Nandankanan Zoo in Bhubaneswar.
The rescued apes were brought to the state after a conservation effort, and officials have requested CZA’s approval to ensure that the animals can be kept under appropriate conditions.
Once sanctioned, the Nandankanan Zoo will provide a suitable habitat for the orangutans, contributing to wildlife rehabilitation and conservation efforts in the region.
