Chief Minister Mohan Majhi declared a relief package for those affected by Cyclone Arnab in Odisha, outlining compensation amounts and distribution mechanisms.
Chief Minister Mohan Majhi addressed the media on Thursday, confirming that the state government will provide financial assistance to families whose homes and livelihoods were damaged by Cyclone Arnab. The compensation scheme covers reconstruction of houses, agricultural losses, and emergency medical expenses.
According to the announcement, eligible households will receive a fixed amount based on the extent of damage, with priority given to those in the most severely affected districts such as Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur and Bhadrak. The relief funds will be disbursed through existing public distribution channels and the state's e-governance portal to ensure transparency.
The CM urged affected residents to register their claims within the next 15 days and assured that the government will monitor the implementation closely. State officials have also deployed additional teams to assess damage and expedite the delivery of essential supplies.
This relief move comes as Odisha continues its recovery efforts after the cyclone, which caused widespread flooding and infrastructure damage across the coastal belt.
