The National Students' Union of India set fire to a puppet representing Gyanesh Kumar before the traditional Ravana burning ceremony in Delhi.
Delhi – On the day of the Dussehra celebrations, members of the National Students' Union of India (NSUI) ignited a puppet depicting Gyanesh Kumar before the scheduled Ravana Dahan ceremony. The act took place in the capital city, coinciding with the evening rituals that traditionally involve the burning of Ravana’s effigy.
The timing of the incident suggests that the NSUI group intended to make a political statement by linking their protest to a high‑visibility cultural event. Organisers of the Dussehra program have not commented on the interruption, and no official response from the NSUI has been released as of now.
Authorities were present at the venue, but there were no reports of violence or injuries. The incident remains the sole notable development reported from the event, with further details pending.
