The North Eastern Council has finished projects worth Rs 28 crore in Meghalaya and released funds to improve education, healthcare and livelihood schemes.
The North Eastern Council (NEC) announced the completion of development projects in Meghalaya valued at Rs 28 crore. The projects, spanning school infrastructure, primary health centres and livelihood initiatives, are expected to boost basic services in the state. NEC has also released the allocated funds to the state government to commence implementation of these schemes.
State officials said the disbursement will enable the construction of new classrooms, upgrade of medical facilities and support for self‑help groups in rural areas. The council highlighted that the interventions align with its mandate to promote balanced regional development across the Northeast.
