Nine dead as communal clashes erupt in three districts of Manipur

Communal clashes broke out in three districts of Manipur, resulting in the deaths of nine individuals, officials said. The incidents were reported as separate but linked by their communal nature, and each took place in a different district of the northeastern state.

Local law‑enforcement agencies have been deployed to the affected areas to restore order and investigate the circumstances surrounding the killings. The authorities have not released the names of the districts or the victims, but confirmed that the fatalities occurred during the height of the unrest.

State officials condemned the violence and appealed for calm, urging communities to refrain from further provocation while investigations continue.
