Nine Barmer Tehsils Declared Critically Drought-Affected

The Rajasthan government has taken the step of declaring nine tehsils in Barmer district as critically drought-affected. This decision comes in response to the low rainfall experienced during the Kharif season of 2026 and the subsequent water scarcity affecting the region. The government is taking steps to alleviate the situation by opening ten fodder depots to provide relief to livestock owners in the affected areas.
