Veterinary authorities in Jammu & Kashmir have mapped nine active epicenters of Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) across the region, according to a report on kashmirlife.net.
LSD is a contagious viral disease that primarily affects cattle and buffalo, causing fever, skin nodules and reduced milk yield, which can lead to significant economic loss for farmers.
The state animal husbandry department has launched intensified surveillance, imposed movement controls and initiated an emergency vaccination drive in the identified zones to curb the spread.
