From October 20, night temperatures across Madhya Pradesh will fall, with Indore recording a season‑low of 15.8°C, the coolest night so far this year.
The Madhya Pradesh State Meteorological Department has issued a forecast indicating a noticeable drop in night-time temperatures starting October 20. In Indore, the mercury fell to 15.8°C, marking the lowest night temperature recorded for the current season.
Similar cooling trends are expected in other parts of the state, including Gwalior and Narmadapura, where temperatures are projected to dip by a few degrees compared with the previous week. The department attributes the decline to an approaching cold front moving southward from the Himalayas.
Authorities advise farmers to monitor crop moisture levels as cooler nights can affect certain rabi crops. Residents are also reminded to dress warmly during the evenings and to keep heating appliances in safe condition.
The forecast will be updated daily, and the department will issue further advisories if the cold spell intensifies.
