Indian Railways has unveiled a new Vande Bharat Sleeper service that will connect Delhi with Howrah, promising faster travel and comfortable sleeper accommodations.
Indian Railways has announced the launch of a new Vande Bharat Sleeper train that will run between New Delhi and Howrah. The service, part of the Vande Bharat Express family, will offer semi‑high speed travel with dedicated sleeper coaches for passengers.
The train is expected to cover the Delhi‑Howrah corridor on a regular schedule, providing a convenient alternative to existing services. While the exact timetable and fare structure are yet to be released, officials have indicated that the fare will be competitive with other long‑distance trains on the route.
The introduction of a sleeper variant of the Vande Bharat Express is aimed at enhancing passenger comfort on long journeys. The train will feature modern amenities such as onboard catering, Wi‑Fi, and power outlets, in line with the features of the existing Vande Bharat fleet.
Railway authorities have highlighted that the new service will reduce travel time and improve connectivity between the national capital and the eastern metropolis of Kolkata, with Howrah station serving as the terminus on the eastern side.
