A ₹11,492‑crore expressway corridor in Rajasthan will reduce the Jaipur‑Jodhpur journey to four hours and the Jodhpur‑Mumbai stretch to eleven hours, boosting industry and trade.
The Rajasthan government has approved a massive expressway corridor worth ₹11,492 crore, linking Jaipur to Jodhpur and extending onward to Mumbai. Designed as a high‑speed, four‑lane route, the project aims to cut the Jaipur‑Jodhpur travel time from the current eight‑plus hours to just four.
Officials say the Jodhpur‑Mumbai segment will also see a dramatic reduction, with the distance expected to be covered in eleven hours, compared with the present 18‑20 hour drive. The alignment will run through key industrial zones, providing direct access for freight and passenger traffic.
The corridor is projected to spur economic activity across Rajasthan by lowering logistics costs, attracting new investments, and creating employment during construction and operation. The government has earmarked the funding in the upcoming fiscal plan, with construction slated to begin early next year.
Stakeholders from the manufacturing and trade sectors have welcomed the initiative, citing faster market connectivity and enhanced competitiveness on a national level.
