The newly elected MUSU committee assumed office today, and the university’s Vice‑Chancellor urged them to prioritize student welfare in their agenda.
The freshly elected members of the MUSU (University Students' Union) were sworn in during a modest ceremony on campus, marking the start of their tenure. The new leadership, comprising a president, vice‑president and several office‑bearers, took over from the outgoing team after a routine internal election.
In his address, the Vice‑Chancellor welcomed the incoming committee and emphasized that the core purpose of the union should be to serve the student community. He highlighted the need for transparent decision‑making, active engagement with academic bodies, and initiatives that directly improve campus life.
The VC also called on the MUSU leaders to collaborate with faculty and administration to address pressing concerns such as mental‑health support, infrastructure upgrades, and skill‑development programs. He assured that the university would provide necessary resources, provided the union remains focused on student‑centred outcomes.
Observers noted that the smooth handover reflects a stable governance structure within the institution, and stakeholders are hopeful that the new team will translate the VC’s exhortations into concrete actions for student welfare.
