New Indian Express urges political leaders to embrace benevolence

The New Indian Express has run an editorial titled “The Politics of Power Needs a Lesson in Benevolence”. The piece critiques the prevailing approach to governance, suggesting that the exercise of authority often overlooks the human element.

In the editorial, the newspaper stresses that political power should be tempered with compassion and a genuine concern for the welfare of all citizens. It argues that policies rooted in empathy can bridge societal divides and foster inclusive growth.

The editorial calls on elected representatives, party leaders and bureaucrats to incorporate benevolent principles into decision‑making, urging them to prioritize people‑centric solutions over partisan or personal gains.

By highlighting the need for a moral compass in politics, the newspaper hopes to spark a broader conversation about responsible leadership across the country.
