Netflix has officially announced its upcoming Stranger Things prequel, titled 'Other Worlds', which is slated for a 2028 release.
Netflix today confirmed that it will release a new prequel series to the wildly popular Stranger Things franchise, titled "Other Worlds." The announcement was made during the network’s official press briefing, with executives highlighting the show’s intent to explore the backstory of the mysterious Upside‑Down and the origins of its key characters.
"Other Worlds" is scheduled to premiere in 2028, giving the production team ample time to build a detailed narrative that complements the original series. While specific plot details remain under wraps, insiders suggest the series will delve into the early encounters between the government and the supernatural forces that later shaped the events of Stranger Things.
The prequel will be produced by the same creative team that worked on the original series, ensuring continuity in tone and visual style. Netflix has not yet released a release date or cast list, but it has confirmed that the new show will be available exclusively on its streaming platform.
Industry analysts predict that the announcement will reignite fan interest in the Stranger Things universe, potentially boosting subscriber numbers in the coming months. The company’s strategy appears to be to sustain momentum by expanding the franchise’s lore before the next major season.
Fans of the series can expect a deeper look into the mythology that has captivated audiences worldwide, with the prequel positioned as a key piece in the broader Stranger Things narrative puzzle.
