Indian authorities have deported suspected drug lord Navpreet Singh from Turkey back to India following a cooperation between the two countries.
Indian officials announced that Navpreet Singh, a suspected drug trafficker, has been deported from Turkey to India. The move came after a joint investigation between Turkish and Indian law‑enforcement agencies identified Singh as a key figure in international narcotics distribution.
Singh, whose alleged operations reportedly spanned several countries, was detained in Turkey earlier this year. Following legal procedures, Turkish authorities complied with an extradition request from India.
Indian authorities said Singh will face charges related to drug trafficking upon his arrival. The case is expected to be heard in a Delhi court, where the government has been pursuing a crackdown on cross‑border drug networks.
The extradition underscores the growing cooperation between India and Turkey in tackling transnational crime. Officials from both countries have emphasized the importance of joint efforts to curb the flow of illicit substances.
