State officials and local organisers are accelerating arrangements ahead of the 27th Hornbill Festival scheduled for early December in Kohima.

Nagaland’s tourism department announced that preparations for the 27th Hornbill Festival have entered a critical phase as the event approaches in early December. Officials said that venue upgrades, stage constructions and logistical support are being fast‑tracked to accommodate the expected influx of visitors.

Cultural groups from across the state are being briefed on performance schedules, and traditional artisans are being assisted to set up exhibition stalls that showcase Naga crafts and cuisine. The state government is also coordinating with security agencies to ensure a safe environment for both locals and tourists.

Tourism promoters highlighted the festival’s role in boosting the region’s economy and have launched a targeted campaign to attract domestic travellers. With the preparations intensifying, organisers expect the Hornbill Festival to once again become a marquee cultural showcase of Northeast India.
