Political leader Nabin urged opposition parties to follow former BJP chief L.K. Advani’s example and support the government on matters of national importance, as reported by OrissaPOST.
Political figure Nabin addressed the media on Thursday, urging opposition parties to adopt a more collaborative approach on issues that affect the nation as a whole. He cited former BJP leader L.K. Advani as a benchmark, noting that Advani often backed the government on matters of national security and foreign policy despite partisan differences.
Nabin emphasized that constructive cooperation on such topics is essential for maintaining stability and advancing India’s strategic interests. He warned that persistent opposition without a willingness to engage could undermine the country’s ability to respond effectively to challenges.
The remarks were made during an interview with OrissaPOST, where Nabin stressed that the call was not about abandoning democratic debate but about prioritising national interest over political rivalry. He appealed to opposition leaders across the spectrum to consider this approach in future parliamentary discussions.
While no immediate policy changes were announced, Nabin’s statement adds to ongoing debates about the role of opposition in India’s parliamentary system, especially in the context of heightened geopolitical tensions.
