A pair of African leopards has arrived at Chamrajendra Zoo in Mysuru under a global animal exchange program. The animals will be displayed to the public shortly.
The exchange program, which facilitates the transfer of exotic species between zoos worldwide, aims to enhance biodiversity conservation and public education. The leopards were transported from an accredited facility overseas.
Zoo officials said the animals have been acclimatized to the new environment and will be housed in a specially designed enclosure that meets international welfare standards. Visitors can expect to see them during the upcoming opening.
The arrival is part of Mysuru's ongoing efforts to diversify its wildlife collection and promote conservation awareness among residents and tourists. The zoo will also host educational talks about leopard conservation.
