Farmers in Mysuru have staged a protest against the grand Dasara celebrations, citing the ongoing drought and demanding increased compensation.
Farmers in Mysuru gathered to protest the city’s grand Dasara celebrations, arguing that the festivities are extravagant while they face severe drought conditions.
The protest, which took place in the heart of the city, was organized by local farmer groups who claim that the government’s compensation for drought-affected crops has been insufficient.
They demand higher financial support and better water management measures to mitigate the impact of the dry spell on agriculture.
The event highlights a growing frustration among farmers who feel that cultural celebrations are prioritized over their immediate needs for relief and resources.
