The Economics Department organized a lecture on the applications of quantitative tools, highlighting their relevance for careers in the AI era.
Davanagere, Karnataka – On October 16, 2026, the Department of Economics at M.S.B. Arts and Commerce College organized a lecture titled “Applications of Quantitative Tools in Economics.”
Dr. Annesh R., the invited resource person, stressed that mastering quantitative tools is essential for employment in both private and public sectors amid the rise of artificial intelligence. He explained how these techniques aid in analysing demand and supply, GDP, government policies, profits, costs and international trade, enabling more accurate economic analysis.
Presiding over the event, Principal Prof. Rangaswamy T.R. highlighted the broad career opportunities in economics and urged students to pursue their studies with dedication.
The programme began with an invocation by Amulya and her team, followed by a welcome address from Prameela R. and a vote of thanks by Prashanth K.S. Attendees included IQAC Coordinator Dr. Vijayakumar A.B., Head of the Department of Sociology Dr. Raghavendra R., and Economics lecturer Naveen Kumar.
