A portion of a mountain in Nepal suddenly collapsed into a river, with witnesses reporting screams as the rock fell.
Earlier today a section of a mountain in Nepal gave way and plunged into a nearby river. Residents standing close to the riverbank said they heard loud screams as the rock mass fell, indicating the sudden and violent nature of the collapse.
Local authorities were alerted immediately and have dispatched rescue teams to the site. Officials are assessing the extent of the damage and searching for any persons who may have been swept away by the fast‑moving water.
Preliminary reports suggest that the landslide was triggered by natural erosion, but a detailed investigation is underway to determine the exact cause. Residents have been urged to stay clear of the riverbank until the area is declared safe.
