A mother trekked 10 kilometres over three hours, carrying her ill baby to the nearest hospital, but the infant died before they could arrive.
A mother set out on foot to reach the nearest medical facility after her infant fell seriously ill. She covered an estimated distance of 10 kilometres, walking continuously for three hours while holding the child in her arms.
Despite her determined effort, the child’s condition deteriorated en route, and the infant passed away before the mother could reach the hospital. The incident highlights the challenges faced by families in remote or underserved areas where emergency transport is unavailable.
Local authorities have been urged to improve emergency medical access and ambulance services to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
