The production team of Mohanlal’s upcoming film "Athimanoharam" has confirmed that the shoot will not be carried out at the Sabarimala pilgrimage site.
The makers of "Athimanoharam", starring Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, have announced that the film’s shooting will not take place at the Sabarimala temple complex. The decision follows concerns over logistical challenges and the need to respect the sanctity of the pilgrimage site.
Earlier reports had suggested that the movie’s climax would be filmed amidst the lush forests surrounding Sabarimala. However, the production house clarified that alternative locations will be chosen to accommodate the crew’s requirements while avoiding any disruption to devotees.
The announcement came from the film’s official social media channels and a statement issued by the director. Fans of the actor have expressed mixed reactions, with some appreciating the sensitivity and others hoping for a grand visual backdrop.
"We respect the cultural significance of Sabarimala and have decided to find a suitable location that aligns with the film’s vision," the director added. The production team is now scouting for other scenic spots in Kerala that can replicate the spiritual ambience required for the storyline.
"Athimanoharam" is slated for release later this year, and the change in shooting location is expected to have minimal impact on the overall schedule.
