A man accused of a bail-out murder in Mohali was arrested in Panchkula with 1.06 crore worth of heroin. Police said a Pajero vehicle was used to transport the drugs.
Police in Punjab arrested a man from Mohali on Tuesday after a raid in Panchkula. The suspect, who has been linked to a bail‑out murder case, was found in possession of heroin valued at approximately ₹1.06 crore. Investigators say the drugs were stored in a Pajero SUV that was used to transport the narcotics.
The arrest comes after a joint operation between the Punjab Police and the Central Bureau of Narcotics. Authorities seized the vehicle and confiscated the drugs, which were packed in sealed containers.
The accused is now in custody and faces charges under the Narcotics Control Act and the Indian Penal Code. Police are probing the link between the murder case and the drug trafficking network.
The Punjab Police spokesperson said the operation was part of an ongoing crackdown on drug smuggling in the region.
