Health authorities in Mohali advise seniors to take extra precautions as seasonal weather changes intensify.
Mohali health officials have issued an advisory urging senior citizens to be vigilant about their well‑being as the city moves from winter to a milder season. The notice highlights that rapid temperature fluctuations can aggravate chronic ailments such as hypertension, arthritis and respiratory problems common among older adults.
The advisory recommends that elders dress in layers, stay well‑hydrated, maintain regular medication schedules and limit prolonged exposure to extreme cold or heat. Monitoring blood pressure and blood sugar levels daily, and seeking prompt medical attention for any unusual symptoms, are also stressed.
Authorities also call on families and community groups to check on vulnerable seniors, ensure they have access to nutritious meals, and assist them in arranging routine health check‑ups. The goal is to minimise weather‑related health risks and keep the elderly population safe during the transitional period.
