The Ministry of Education's director addressed CUO students, urging them to apply innovative solutions to modernise Indian agriculture.

New Delhi – In a recent address, the director of the Ministry of Education called on students of the Central University of Odisha (CUO) to become catalysts for change in the agricultural sector. Emphasising the need for fresh ideas, the official highlighted how scientific research and technology can boost farm productivity and sustainability.

The director outlined several priority areas, including the adoption of precision farming, digital tools for crop monitoring, and the development of climate‑resilient varieties. He urged students to collaborate with farmers, research institutes and industry partners to translate classroom knowledge into field‑ready solutions.

The appeal aligns with the government's broader push to modernise agriculture and reduce reliance on traditional practices. Educational institutions are being encouraged to integrate practical, hands‑on projects that directly address the challenges faced by Indian farmers.

CUO faculty members welcomed the directive, noting that the university is already expanding its agri‑science programmes and seeking partnerships for field trials. The ministry’s message underscores the role of youth and academia in shaping the future of India's food security.
