The annual Anthurium Festival returns to Aizawl on 1 October 2026, organized by Mizoram Tourism to showcase the state’s signature flower and local culture.
Mizoram Tourism announced that the Anthurium Festival will resume in Aizawl on 1 October 2026 after a brief hiatus. The three‑day event is centered on the anthurium, a flower that has become a symbol of the state’s horticultural identity.
The festival will feature flower exhibitions, horticulture workshops, and cultural performances by local artists. Stalls showcasing traditional crafts, cuisine, and tourism packages are also planned to attract visitors from across the country.
Officials expect the celebration to boost tourist footfall in the northeastern region and provide a platform for local growers to market their produce. Security and health arrangements have been coordinated with the state administration to ensure a smooth experience for attendees.
The schedule includes an opening ceremony at the Aizawl Municipal Garden, followed by daily guided tours of anthurium farms in the surrounding hills. The event aims to reinforce Mizoram’s reputation as a vibrant cultural and botanical destination.
The festival concludes on 3 October, after which organizers will assess visitor response and consider expanding the program for future editions.
