Mizoram police operations over eight months recovered drugs worth ₹846 crore and detained 930 suspects.

Mizoram police, in a coordinated operation spanning eight months, seized drugs valued at ₹846 crore and arrested 930 individuals suspected of involvement in the drug trade.

The crackdown, conducted across multiple districts, targeted both local and interstate trafficking networks. Authorities recovered a range of narcotics, including methamphetamine, heroin, and synthetic drugs.

The operation is part of the state’s intensified anti‑drug campaign, which follows a national directive to curb illicit drug use and trafficking. Police officials reported that the seized drugs were destined for distribution within the region.

The arrests were carried out in several joint raids, with law enforcement agencies coordinating with the Central Bureau of Narcotics. The seized inventory is currently under forensic examination.

The state government has announced plans to strengthen surveillance and community outreach programs to prevent future drug trafficking.
