The Mission Chabutra protest march entered Mahabubnagar after reports of a police assault on demonstrators.
The Mission Chabutra protest group entered the city of Mahabubnagar following allegations that police had assaulted participants during earlier stages of the march.
The protest, which had been moving through the region, was halted temporarily when demonstrators reported that law‑enforcement officers had used excessive force. The incident prompted the organizers to resume the march, this time with a more visible presence of security personnel.
Local authorities have stated that they are investigating the claims of assault and have called for a transparent inquiry. The police have denied any wrongdoing, saying that any contact with protesters was in line with standard crowd‑control procedures.
The event has drawn attention from civic groups and local media, who are monitoring the situation closely as the protest continues to move through Mahabubnagar’s streets.
