Pageant organizers have removed Karbom Taipodia, a contestant in the Miss Arunachal competition, after allegations surfaced that she is involved in a polygamous relationship.
The Miss Arunachal beauty contest announced the disqualification of contestant Karbom Taipodia following reports that she may be involved in a polygamous marriage. Organisers said the decision was taken after a review of the allegations and in line with the pageant's eligibility criteria.
According to local media, the controversy began when a social media post claimed that Taipodia was married to more than one person, which is prohibited under the competition's rules. The pageant committee did not disclose detailed evidence but confirmed that the matter was investigated before the final decision.
The disqualification will not affect the ongoing schedule of the competition, and the organizers have urged participants and the public to respect the decision while the event proceeds to its final stages.
