The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a short‑term forecast of light rain and occasional snowfall in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) released a weather outlook indicating that light rain will affect several locations across Jammu and Kashmir, while isolated patches of snow are also expected. The forecast covers both the Jammu region and the higher‑altitude valleys of the Kashmir valley, where temperatures are low enough for snowfall.
Meteorologists noted that the precipitation is likely to be brief and moderate, without posing a severe threat to daily activities. However, they advised commuters and travelers to stay alert for slippery roads, especially in mountainous stretches where snow accumulation could be uneven.
Local authorities have been briefed on the outlook and are prepared to issue advisories if conditions worsen. Residents are encouraged to monitor updates from the IMD and follow safety guidelines during the expected rain‑snow spell.
