The Meghalaya government has issued new School Complex Rules that will formally connect primary schools with secondary institutions, aiming to streamline student transition.
The state education department announced the rollout of School Complex Rules, a policy framework that mandates linking each primary school with a designated secondary school within the same complex.
The initiative seeks to create a seamless academic pathway, lower dropout rates and enable sharing of resources such as teachers, laboratories and extracurricular programmes.
Officials said the guidelines will take effect from the upcoming academic session, with schools required to submit their linkage plans to the department for approval.
The policy aligns with national efforts to improve continuity in education and will be monitored for its impact on enrolment and performance metrics.
