Meghalaya to Host National Games Emphasizing Unity, Says Shylla

Meghalaya's government has confirmed its intention to host the forthcoming National Games, with senior official Shylla emphasizing a "one family" approach to the multi‑sport event. The announcement was made during a press briefing in the state capital, highlighting the administration's commitment to inclusivity and collective participation.

Shylla stressed that the Games will be organized to foster unity among athletes, officials and spectators from across the country, portraying the event as a family gathering rather than a competition alone. This perspective aims to strengthen communal bonds and showcase Meghalaya's cultural hospitality.

Preparatory work is already underway, with local authorities coordinating venues, infrastructure upgrades and logistical support to meet national standards. Officials expect the Games to boost tourism, create temporary employment and leave a lasting legacy for sports development in the state.
