Meghalaya CM inaugurates foundation for Mini Secretariat at Patharkhmah

During a ceremony in Patharkhmah, the chief minister of Meghalaya officially laid the foundation stone for a Mini Secretariat intended to bring certain government functions closer to local residents. The event was attended by senior state officials and local representatives, who highlighted the project’s role in improving administrative efficiency.

The Mini Secretariat will house key departmental offices, enabling citizens to access services without traveling to the state capital. Officials said the new complex is part of a broader effort to decentralise governance and accelerate development in remote areas.

Construction is slated to begin shortly, with completion expected within the next two years. Once operational, the facility is expected to create employment opportunities and stimulate ancillary economic activity in Patharkhmah and surrounding villages.
