Speakers also cited a surge in banking fraud cases across the state, urging authorities to tighten online security protocols for financial institutions. The debate stressed that both foreign and domestic cyber incidents pose a risk to citizens, businesses, and critical infrastructure.
The assembly resolved to form a special committee tasked with reviewing existing cybersecurity laws, recommending upgrades to state‑run IT systems, and facilitating awareness programmes for the public.
