Speakers also cited a surge in banking fraud cases across the state, urging authorities to tighten online security protocols for financial institutions. The debate stressed that both foreign and domestic cyber incidents pose a risk to citizens, businesses, and critical infrastructure.
The assembly resolved to form a special committee tasked with reviewing existing cybersecurity laws, recommending upgrades to state‑run IT systems, and facilitating awareness programmes for the public. Officials promised to collaborate with the Centre’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology to secure funding and technical expertise.
