The Ministry of External Affairs said China is responsible for the periodic disruptions along the India‑China border, following remarks by the ITBP chief.

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) issued a statement after the head of the Indo‑Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) highlighted occasional disturbances along the disputed frontier with China. The ITBP chief’s observation prompted the MEA to articulate its view on the source of these incidents.

In its response, the MEA explicitly held China accountable for the intermittent flare‑ups that affect the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The ministry underscored that such disruptions undermine peace and stability in the region and called for continued diplomatic engagement to resolve the underlying issues.

The statement comes amid a broader context of heightened vigilance on both sides of the border, where sporadic stand‑offs have been reported in recent months. While no new clash was reported at the time of the comment, New Delhi reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding national sovereignty and maintaining a robust border posture.

Analysts note that the MEA’s attribution of blame reflects ongoing strategic friction and signals that India will continue to raise the matter in bilateral talks and international forums.
