Manipur has decided to select its representatives for the National Judo Championships through the upcoming Sangai Cup, a state‑level tournament that will serve as the qualifying event.
The Manipur Judo Association announced that the state’s delegation for the National Judo Championships will be chosen through the Sangai Cup, scheduled to take place later this month.
The Sangai Cup, a prestigious state‑wide competition, will feature athletes from across Manipur’s districts competing in various weight categories.
Officials said the tournament will act as a transparent and merit‑based selection process, ensuring that the best judokas earn a place on the national team.
The decision aims to streamline team selection and provide athletes with a clear pathway to national competition.
